Online Hiatus, Sister's Wedding, Live Play...

Hey readers. I have been MIA for about 2 months online. I decided at the beginning of September that I would take an unknown hiatus from online. Since then, I have stopped all play with the exception of a few satellites, and two or three multitables. Jon and I have traveled extensively in the past two months. We have been back and forth between ny, ct and nj. It has been exhausting, but exhilirating at the same time. This break from online has been the best thing for me. My live play has been great, I feel I am getting better and better all the time. Live poker has renewed my confidence in our ability to do this professionally. I feel in control of most cash games I play at. If I am at all uncomfortable, or don't like the game for whatever reason, I just change. The number of bad, loose players out there is staggering and the amount of money they throw around, even more staggering.

Jon and I have been playing at some private clubs over the last few months, when we are in fact in NY and not traveling. I am very choosy about the clubs I will play at- I like 1 table games, low key, quiet, well run, clean and as not shady as possible. These places are hard to come by. I have been invited to play in Astoria and NYC often, and I just don't feel comfortable with these games. The stories of city games getting busted are endless and I want to avoid being in that situation as much as possible.

In other news, Jon final tabled the 750k at Mohegan Sun for a $30k cash, which is awesome. The timing could not have been better. We just broke the news to my family that Jon is going to focus on poker, so this cash is perfect validation of our decision. Jon also cashed in the same week, in the $1000 at Foxwoods, I bubbled the $1500 and Jon finished 15 out of the money in the $2k. With all of these tourneys we played, we managed to still minimize our losses with sng and cash profits. I love being in CT in Oct/Nov...the foliage is beautiful, the air is crisp and its so country, I really love it.

My business is going well also. I am picking and choosing my cases now. I refer out what I want. I still do a good amount of per diem work, which is my bread and butter. The freedom is so exhilirating, the best thing that ever happened to me (other than Jon) is not having to work for a company or a firm.

We have the rental house in Jersey again this year. That's such a relief bc hotel expenses are starting to eat into our profits, especially in CT where room rates are insane. During the week, rates are reasonable, however on the weekend, it is difficult to find a room under $200 per nite.

We also purchased a certified pre owned '08 Jeep Wrangler which we are picking up this weekend. It is awesome, it is the car I want, i love it! I can't wait. We are over our miles on our current wrangler lease, so it makes sense to get into another vehicle. I am so excited to pick it up!

My sister's wedding was the last weekend in October. It was absolutely gorgeous. The most beautiful wedding I was ever at. Angela looked amazing, the place/atmosphere was classy and elegant, and overall, it was awesome. She and her new husband, Joe, are off to Hawaii for their honeymoon for two weeks. I will try to post pics when I get them.

That's all for now, I will post soon, I promise!!!

Good money and peace,
Lucky C, and sidekick, Ace.
